| Photographs taken by a U S Air Force serviceman who served as a medical technician during his 1 1/2 tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the 903rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (AES) at different locations and times between 1968-1970. The Da Nang, Phu Cat, Tan Son Nhut, and Pleiku Airbases were his main Area of Operations.
The 903rd AES was organized at Tan Son Nhut on July 8, 1966. The 903rd Aeromedical Evacuation Flight (assigned to the squadron) was a self-contained unit of mobile teams to provide patient care at forward airstrips.
It treated and moved over ten thousand patients during the thirty days after Tet 1968 and earned the Air Force Presidential Unit Citation. |
