The first purpose built anti-tank weapon was a bolt-action rifle, the Mauser 1918 T-Gewehr, that fired a 13mm cartridge with a solid bullet that could penetrate the thin armor of tanks of the time.
From the 13th century, an "artillier" referred to a builder of any war equipment.
"Stahlhelm" translates to "steel helmet", however the distinctive German helmet design is commonly referred to as a Stahlhelm.
